True Black History 2...

  The REAL ‘Lone Ranger’ Was An African American Lawman Who Lived With Native American Indians

  The real “Lone Ranger,” it turns out, was an African American man named Bass Reeves, who the legend was based upon. Perhaps not surprisingly, many aspects of his life were written out of the story, including his ethnicity. The basics remained the same: a lawman hunting bad guys, accompanied by a Native American, riding on a white horse, and with a silver trademark.

Historians of the American West have also, until recently, ignored the fact that this man was African American, a free black man who headed West to find himself less subject to the racist structure of the established Eastern and Southern states.            (More)

  The Seven Black Presidents Before Barack Obama

Were There Black US Presidents before? The people thought that Barack Obama is the first black President of the United States. Wrong.

1. John Hanson (a Moor) was actually the 1st President of the United States, he served from 1781 – 1782 and he was black. The new country was actually formed on March 1, 1781 with the adoption of The Articles of Confederation. This document was actually proposed on June 11, 1776, but not agreed upon by Congress until November 15, 1777.            (More)

  Obama approval hits new high

(CNN)President Barack Obama's approval rating stands at 55% in a new CNN/ORC poll, the highest mark of his second term, and matching his best at any time since his first year in office.

There are partisan differences, however. He's up 12 points among Democrats to 89% approval and 14 among independents to 56% approval, but his numbers have barely budged among Republicans, 11% approved in September 2015 and 13% approve now.
And there's a racial gap as well, with improvement coming among whites and Hispanics, but ratings of Obama holding steady among blacks. Among whites, his approval rating remains in negative territory but has climbed from 32% a year ago to 47% now. Non-whites have held mostly steady -- 68% approved then and 70% do now.          (More)
  10 Black Heroes Who Usually Go Unrecognized During Black History Month, But Shouldn’t
Robert Smalls (April 5,  1839 – Feb. 23, 1915)
  Robert Smalls Brady Handy

Robert Smalls was an African-American born into slavery in Beaufort, S.C., but during and after the American Civil War, he became a ship’s pilot, sea captain, and politician.

He freed himself, his crew and their families from slavery on May 13, 1862, when he led an uprising aboard a Confederate transport ship, the CSS Planter, in Charleston harbor, and sailed it north to freedom. His feat  successfully helped persuade President Abraham Lincoln to accept African-American soldiers into the Union Army.

As a politician, Smalls authored state legislation that gave South Carolina the first free and compulsory public school system in the United States.

  A Black Man Invented The PC As We Know It Today
  You may not have heard of Dr. Mark Dean. And you aren't alone. But almost everything in your life has been affected by his work.

See, Dr. Mark Dean is a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He is in the National Hall of Inventors. He has more than 30 patents pending. He is a vice president with IBM. Oh, yeah. And he is also the architect of the modern-day personal computer. Dr. Dean holds three of the original nine patents on the computer that all PCs are based upon. And, Dr. Mark Dean is an African American.            (More)
  Meet Lewis Latimer, the African American who enlightened Thomas Edison
  We’re interrupting your regularly scheduled programming on gentrification to bring you this Black History Month profile on Lewis H. Latimer, the African-American renaissance man who in the late 19th century helped not only invent the lightbulb, but also create the electric industry as we know it today. Yes, it’s common knowledge that Thomas Edison was the lightbulb’s inventor. And with today being Edison’s birthday, the electric industry won’t let us forget that...            (More)
The People who saw the necessity to honor their Mothers and Fathers by name and principles;
The People who are willing to proclaim the same for their posterity so they may gain back their lost estate and return to the mindsets of their ancient foremothers and forefathers, who were/are the Mothers and Fathers of civilization and civilization
The People who are aware that they must learn from this cycle and never be content in physicality only, as they are:  magnetic, chemical, spiritual, electrical and divine, and are aware that the universe needs them to return to their higher self;
The People who are also aware that they are part of a recycling of  life’s energies, which is done in the order of retribution justice. (re-con·tribute, re·dis·tribute, re·turn);
The People who recognize they must begin at the highest they can reach to give the best of themselves; and recognize the lowest of themselves, so they can correct and complete themselves in the cycles of their evolution;            (More)
  Why Are Our Cities Segregated?

Because that’s what the government intended after World War II:

“We have a national myth that the reason our metropolitan areas are segregated is for informal reasons—private prejudice, differences in income, demographic trends, racial steering by real estate agents and so forth,” Rothstein said. “The reality is that the segregation that we see today was established by the federal government with help from state and local governments. It’s an officially established system.”

 ... Fred Trump came to personify all the viciousness of the racist codes that continued to put decent housing – both public and private – out of reach for so many of his fellow citizens...  The reason Trump is winning the Republican primary is because he is making those racial and class resentments real and interconnected. It’s the Mexicans and Chinese and Vietnamese stealing our jobs, not the rich employers stealing our jobs, but either way, Trump says he is going to stop it from happening. So does race trump class in Tea Party (or more usefully at this point, right-wing populism) support? I suppose it defends on the definitions, but I don’t think we should be asking these questions in this form. More valuable is to understand the variety of reasons why people are inclined to feel and vote this way, reasons that will always be complex.             (More)

  We Are All Slaves!
Black, White, Red, whatever
slave - a person who is the property of and wholly subject to another; a bond servant (www.dictionary.com)
Modern government is the most ingenious form of slavery ever invented. If you really look at it, you'll be awestruck by the cleverness of its design and dumbfounded by the simplicity of its implementation. I aim to deconstruct the basis of our enslavement through this text and to prescribe a path to freedom. Being a citizen of the USA, I'm really only able to speak to the system of slavery that exists here. By way of observation, it seems that this ingenious system exists elsewhere, but I'm without doubt that it exists here. Quite literally, if you live in the USA, you are a slave.             (More)
  A Tribute to Dr. Ivan Van Sertima
  With absolute certainty it can stated that, due to his consistent and unrelenting scholarship over the past twenty-five years in the rewriting of African history and the reconstruction of the African's place in world history, particularly in the field of the African presence in ancient America, Ivan Van Sertima has cemented his position as one of our greatest living scholars. Indeed, during this turbulent and exciting period, he has been in the vanguard of those scholars fighting to place African history in a new light. Simply put, Van Sertima's clarion call has been: "We shall follow the trail of the African in Europe, in Asia, and in every corner of the New World, seeking to set the record straight. This is no romantic exploration of antiquities. It is a search for roots."        (More)
  Moorish American Concept vs Black American
vs African American
  The Moors/Moorish term for nationality is a brilliant concept, and could be embraced by the masses of “African” Americans. However, the Moorish Science Temple’s, and other Moorish groups most have a common doctrine, to become main stream, or be fully accepted in the African American community. There’s nothing wrong using the term “Black” in a unofficial gathering among friends, family or used to intimidate, provoke, but in Business, Politics, Government and International Relations, the term “Black” is inappropriate, black is a color. “African” American is more formal. However, Africa is a continent with over 50 countries and “African”, “West African” probably more suited for a Nigerians, Malian, Kenyans, Tanzanians who already have National identities. The term Moors/Moorish does sound attractive and doesn’t have a negative description, at least not in America, but in some regions in Europe the word Moor is respected and feared.  >>>
  Ancient Moors in America | We Didn't Land On Plymouth Rock Because We Were Already Here

Ancient Moors in America | We Didn't Land On Plymouth Rock Because We Were Already Here You know one of the biggest lies perpetrated is that we were all brought over here on slave ships from Africa. Seriously, it is a huge deal. Everything is hidden in plain sight too. They always act like the Native Americans are almost extinct, like they are less than 1% of the population.

When Christopher Columbus landed in the West Indies, he described the people on the islands as dark skin people like the Ethiopians. California was populated by black people as well. Europeans who sailed to America described and drew pictures of the people of America as a dark skin and copper colored with Afros, long hair, or wavy hair.

Black Californians Black people lived in North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean, before any slave ships ever arrived here which is why Columbus described the dark skin natives as looking like Ethiopians.         (More)

  Ohio State University Is Paying Their First African American President HALF The Salary
  In director Lee Daniels’ movie The Butler, African American employees at the White House were paid half of what white employees, doing the same jobs, were paid. This unfair practice continued administration after administration, until the “The Butler,” a fictionalized character based on the life of Eugene Allen, played by Forest Whitaker, stood his ground.

Drake, the current head of the University of California in Irvine, was appointed to lead UC Irvine in 2005 after the school found itself in financial struggles, and with its medical center facing lawsuits. UC Irvine faculty members have nothing but good things to say about Drake and what he has done for their University. He helped to start California’s first public law school in four decades. He turned around the medical center and boosted the University’s earnings.

So why is Ohio State only paying him HALF of what his white predecessors made?          (Mr. Kasich, Tear down this Bias........ed)           (More)
